The site was a long time idea that came to life one night back in 2005. As I, the editor has an extensive background from the maritime transportation sector and love this idea of blogging and writing about things that I know about, shippingtalk became part of my network as a natural extension of that knowledge. The site was taken off line a couple of times due to spamming and finally (hopefully) is here to stay this time. It is a place where I like to write about the past, present and future of the maritime sector and at same time is able to give a value for those that comes here to read. I think that over time it just might be some changes but the general “Theme” will remain the same. I did a couple of changes already and have been able to re-post some of the older articles that were on the original site. I have been asked to write on some specific issues and are entertaining that thought but I will remain within the Maritime Transportation sector.

As things evolve I hope people that are reading also will become active in the sense that they can leave comments. Needless to say, don’t spam and please stay within context.
